Xiao said that in terms of 5G development, by the end of last year a total of 1.43 million 5G base stations had been built nationwide, and the number of mobile terminals connected to the network exceeded 520 million. The minister said the ministry will further stimulate investment in the manufacturing sector, encourage companies to upgrade their manufacturing technology, and speed up the construction of 5G services and gigabit fiber optic networks.
