China “refuses” to provide important raw data on Covid-19 to WHO
China refused to provide raw data to WHO team about early Covid-19 cases, purpose for gathering data is to understand the outbreak of Covid-19. The investigator team requested for raw data about 174 cases that china identified early phase of the Covid-19 outbreak in the Wuhan city December 2019, Australian infection diseases expert who is the member of the team said that only summary is provided by china.
He said that this kind of raw data is called a “row list,” which is usually anonymized, but contains detailed information, such as questions asked about individual patients, their responses, and how to analyze their responses. He said on Saturday: “This is standard practice for outbreak investigations. “He said that obtaining raw data is particularly important because only half of the 174 cases were exposed to the South China market.
Dwyer said: “This is why we insist on request.” “Why did not happen, I cannot comment. Whether it is political, time, or difficult. But there are other reasons why the data is not available, I don’t know either.” The White House said on Friday that the United States was “deeply concerned” about the way the WHO reported the findings of the investigation and called on China to provide these data. The WHO and China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
