At around 16:00 on the 16th local time, Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy, erupted violently, and huge ash pillars drifted southward with the wind. Affected by this, the nearby Catania Airport has been temporarily closed, and at the same time, 5 sorties of arrival and departure flights were cancelled or alternated to other places. The eruption was a crater located in the southeast of the volcano. Most of the province of Catania, where the volcano is located, rained volcanic ash, and some local residents said that they saw stones with a diameter of 10 cm falling. Up to now, there is no report of personal and property damage.
